Nan Mattai is senior vice president, Engineering & Technology for Rockwell Collins. Additionally, she is a corporate officer. Mattai is responsible for Rockwell Collins’ Engineering & Technology organization, including the Advanced Technology Center. In this role, she is responsible for guiding the future technology direction, technology investment decisions and the development of advanced technologies to meet the needs of various parts of the business. She was appointed to the position in November 2004.
Previously, Mattai served as vice president, Government Systems Engineering, a position to which she was appointed in 2001. She joined the company in 1993, and has held positions of increasing responsibility, including senior director, Tactical Communications.
Mattai holds a Master of Science degree in Nuclear Physics from the University of Windsor, Canada and has completed all graduate courses for a doctorate in physics.
Mattai is a member of the Advisory Board, Aviation Week Strategic Media & Conferences; vice president, Operations, of the National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Science, Inc. (GEM); and a member of the Iowa State University Institute for Physical Research and Technology (IPRT) Industrial Advisory Board.
